Being honest with your spouse does not necessarily imply that you have to share every thought, dream, fear, or fantasy with this other. In fact, honesty in your marriage can be a double-edged sword.
1. Never, ever reveal any of your shortcomings to him/her.
One of the things you should never reveal to anyone, not even your spouse, includes the following: People are subject to change, and even your partner may betray you at some point in the future. If you come into disagreement with him one day, he may try to take advantage of your weaknesses to defeat you. Even if you don’t accept it, the simple fact is that it is true. Because of this, it is important to be extremely cautious about the things you share with your loved ones and friends.
2. Never reveal the specifics of your financial situation to them.
Your account issues are personal information, and no one, not even your lover, needs to know about them. Before you tell your husband anything, make sure you know what he is capable of, because some husbands cannot be trusted these days, while others can. So before you take any action, make sure you know what your husband is capable of.
3. Under no circumstances should you disclose any family inheritance to him.
Your family members are the only ones who should know the family secrets. If you decide to marry, then he should become a member of your family. Even though he has the right to know everything there is to know about your family, there are certain darker secrets of your family that you should never reveal to him. I am aware that men, in general, are adept at keeping secrets, but I don’t think that applies to all of them. Don’t take any chances, as people may surprise you by changing their minds.
